The Multicultural Scholars Program in the Social Sciences (MSPSS) is for undergraduate students at KU who are seeking a degree in the social sciences.  Students majoring in Anthropology, Applied Behavioral Science, Communication Studies, Economics, Linguistics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Speech- Language-Hearing are eligible to apply.  The MSPSS strongly encourages applications from freshman and sophomores students.

Students in MSPSS come from various racial and ethnic backgrounds and include individuals from groups that are currently underrepresented in the social sciences.  First generation college student and students who are eligible for full Pell grants are also eligible for the program.  Members of MSPSS:

• are serious, motivated students who are well prepared for social science degrees
• seek excellence in their academic work
• are open to working with other students to enhance their education
• seek cultural and educational experiences that broadens their appreciation and understanding of the arts, humanities, and sciences

All participants in MSPSS must be citizens or permanent residents of the USA.
